5 Weeks Until Opening Night

If you can’t seem to sit still in a chair for a long performance (like most dancers) you will definitely want to attend this year’s showcase!  Not only are the students choreographing for the dancers, they are creating movement for the audience as well. The performance will progress through different areas of the unfinished Highland Campus making its way to the new studio theater.

There is almost never a quiet moment in the studio now. Class periods have turned into rehearsal time for the show. The students start with a quick 15 minute warm up individually. The rest of the class is student led. All of the students are hard at work learning and teaching new choreography during the two hour class periods, which never seem to be long enough.

More to come on how we will be designing lighting, set, and sound for such a large, unconventional performance space! (We have already started rigging aerial silks from the second floor)

Check back for next week’s featured choreographer - Katie Mulligan!
